Design of a Metaverse - Capgemini campus

The Serge Kampf Les Fontaines Campus is a 52-hectare facility that includes a castle of the XVIIth century. Located in Chantilly, north of Paris, the domain is now owned by the company Capgemini, which organizes seminars there.

The Château des Fontaines (castle of the fountains) combines different architectural styles while respecting the regional influence. It is of course the emblematic element of the place. In front of the castle there is a very characteristic arched building, where the majority of the working rooms are organized.
The company expressed interest in holding virtual seminars here, and asked me to design the virtual campus. The challenge is to keep the atmosphere of the place, while offering a readable, simple and ergonomic navigation for the participants. The artistic direction is to propose something nice, bright, woody and flowery.

The development support is Maze, with its metaverse division Tooloa. Tooloa is a metaverse generator based on an isometric view (like many video-game). The navigation and interaction is done with the mouse click. Tooloa currently offers one of the most accessible solutions for a simple metaverse.
Of course the first objective was to reproduce the castle in 3D. I used photos to reproduce it identically. I then tried to match the night lighting as well as possible.
I then reproduced in 3D almost all the interior/exterior furniture :
Many layouts have been made, in order to optimize the navigation and readability of the site. Below is the latest version of the campus. We opted for a cloverleaf shape, which reminds us of the large park of French castles like Versailles. This shape has the advantage of allowing to reach each place without walking too much.

Castle moats are an excellent way to make delimitation of the map, to prevent the participants from running away into the forest.
As you can see the arrangement of the rounded building has been modified, because in front of the castle the isometric view made the entrance impossible.
It is possible to have this campus at different times of the day, the lighting adapts.
This view of the castle proposes an indoor/outdoor to enjoy the bar and the library.
A brief overview of the different working rooms, the campus can welcome up to 200 people simultaneously.
Below are some pictures of the metaverse in operation. You can see the avatars talking to each other. When you meet someone, the visio is activated and it is possible to chat. You can sit at the table and have private discussions for 2 to 4 people.

The library allows you to consult documents, while the workshops are made to work in groups. It is also possible to hold a conference.
The metavers still in beta-testing and will soon be fully operational

Thank you for reading.
